PDR is excited to announce that it has won a Red Dot Award for Huntleigh Healthcare's Sonicaid Team 3.

Founded in 1954, the Red Dot Award: Product Design competition evaluates the best products of the year from all over the world. Honoring a select group of products out of the thousands entered each year, Red Dot winners are chosen by an international jury who seek to reward those products that significantly stand out for having exceptional design qualities.

The competition received more than 5,500 entries from 54 countries and after several days of assessment, the expert committee came to the decision that this fetal monitor deserved to be awarded with this internationally sought-after seal of quality.

The design of the Sonicaid Team 3 is fundamentally different to any of its predecessors, with the inclusion of more powerful features and a touch-screen for the first time.

"This is our 6th major international design award this year that adds to a long line of previous awards. It demonstrates a quality and consistency in our approach to design and user insight that makes us stand out on an international playing field."

Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award explains, “The Red Dot winners are pursuing the right design strategy. They have recognised that good design and economic success go hand in hand. The award by the critical Red Dot jury documents their high design quality and is indicative of their successful design policy.”

Prize-winning products will be displayed for five weeks in the Red Dot Design Museum, Essen. Opening on July 3rd, this special exhibition entitled “Design on Stage” will present the awarded products of 2017 as part of the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design.

This date also marks the launch of the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2017/2018. This international reference work for award-winning design will feature all of the year’s winning products. The winners will also be presented online, in the Red Dot App and on the design platform Red Dot 21.
